Drug testing in the workplace is a multi-faceted issue. Simply stated, it means different things to different people. Yet whether on a construction site or a corporate high rise, one aspect of drug abuse in the workplace remains constant, its insidious affects. An increase in on-the-job accidents, workplace violence, inventory shrinkage/employee theft, absenteeism and employee turnover is common place, while there is a decrease in productivity and employee moral or even business loss. These are just a few the negative impacts of employee substance abuse.
